“Write One Line" exists to help you discover a deeper, more meaningful life through a simple daily practice.
We all want to succeed in life, and if you’re anything like me, you invest countless hours, energy and resources trying to get better!
Often this process can be time consuming and complex, but what if there was something simple you could do for 60 seconds a day that could change your life in the following ways:
– Help you accomplish your goals – Improve your memory
– Strengthen your self-discipline – Make you more creative
– Give you more self confidence – Reduce your stress
– Solve problems more effectively – Strengthen your relationships
The truth is you can accomplish these things and more through a 60 second investment each day! It might sound hard to believe, but these benefits have been scientifically proven to come through the practice of putting pen to paper and writing your thoughts in a journal. Just try googling “the benefits of writing in a journal" and see the massive amount of studies that have proven the power of this practice. It really is life changing!
And yet, as proven and powerful as it is, a majority of people never consistently tap into this practice to experience the deeper more meaningful life it provides. It’s not that we don’t want to. In fact, I’ve never met a person who has told me they don’t think it’s a valuable practice but I often meet people who say they just can’t seem to do it. Why?
The reason we don’t engage this life-changing practice is because it just seems too complicated. The empty page can be intimidating and we don’t know where to start so we just never get started. I can totally relate. For years, these were my exact thoughts, until I discovered a simple idea that would make it easy to start and stick with writing in my journal.
The idea of “Write One Line" started a few years ago as my own personal life hack. I like to say that I have been a journaler for over 20 years but the problem was I might journal for 3 days and then not again for 3 years! Does that even count?! This was actually really frustrating for me because although I believed in the power of writing in a journal, I just couldn’t seem to do it consistently.
I knew if I was going to develop the practice, I had to make it simple and the simplest thing I could think of was “write one line"! Yup, that it! Take 60 seconds each day to write down a memory, an idea, a lesson I had learned, or anything really about the day. It honestly didn’t matter what I wrote, it mattered that I wrote and it was the key to unlocking the powerful benefits listed above.
It’s been pretty cool to not only see the benefits in my own life, but over the past couple years, others have picked up the practice and now hundreds of people across the country “write one line" each day to go to deeper more meaningful places!
One of the important lessons I learned about getting started is that it helps to have a really nice leather journal that you enjoy writing in and want to use! One day, I was sitting with a friend who was sharing how much he loved the idea of “Write One Line", when he asked me “Don’t you make leather journals as a hobby?" “Yes", I replied. “You know, you should combine your write one line idea with your leather journals and make “Write One Line" leather journals so people could have a great artisan leather journal to write in!" I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of this, but it was a great idea, and this is how “Write One Line" leather journals became a part of the write one line practice!
If you need a great leather journal I would love to make one for you, but the truth is, you don’t need one of my journals to get started! Just grab any journal and start to “Write One Line" today! That’s all you need to do to experience the power and benefits of writing in a journal and I hope you’ll consider getting started today!
